Jude Law: Reluctant Fashion Trendsetter
A classic Brit with the chiseled features of a Greek god, Jude Law has navigated his career to stratospheric heights and has established himself as a reluctant fashion trendsetter. Raised by his schoolteacher parents in London, Law began studying acting at the mere age of 12. His image is one of intensity and quiet charm. Without a fondness for ultra-trendy fashions, he favors a casual European style that makes him look more like a London urbanite than an international film star.
Because his “pretty boy” good looks could cause some to be dismissive of him, Jude Law avoids playing up his features. Instead, he tends to favor a slightly disheveled look while maintaining impeccable grooming. For casual wear, he frequently wears a well-worn blazer with a pair of track pants and a knit cap. Yet, he manages to look disarmingly handsome and sophisticated. This approachable style has become his signature look.
To develop your own casual sophistication, start with an academic looking, faded corduroy blazer with suede elbow patches or a buttery soft, vintage leather jacket. This versatile piece can be worn over a sweater, hooded sweatshirt, or a slim-fitting shirt. Don’t be afraid to accessorize with a scarf or muffler for cool weather. Loose fitting sweatpants or jeans and a cool pair of soccer-inspired athletic shoes can complete the look. Choose colors that are neutral, and stick to natural fabrics like wool, cashmere, and cotton.
For evening, Jude prefers impeccably tailored suits and often wears pinstripes, dark dress shirts, and matching ties. Even in his selection of formal wear, he never strives to have his clothing overshadow him. Rather, he chooses classic black tuxedos that give him the subtle appearance of aristocracy. His knack for choosing the best looks for his persona recently placed him on Esquire magazines list of the “Best Dressed Men In The World.”
Jude Law balances out his astonishingly handsome face by wearing his cropped, sandy-colored hair tousled and uncombed. However, his “just rolled out of bed” appearance does require some effort. To achieve this effect, use a dime size amount of styling paste and apply from roots to ends of hair. Next, blow dry hair in sections to create a slightly roughed up style. Spritz hair with a firm-hold spray to keep look in place.
Without a doubt, Jude Law is aware of his affect on others. Even though he once proclaimed that he had a “dog biscuit” face, he knows, that to be taken seriously as a classically trained actor, he has to downplay his incredible good looks. Thus, he has created an understated, approachable fashion style that is all his own. The key to developing your own casual, yet sophisticated style is to choose subtle, comfortable clothing that serves as a backdrop to highlight your own unique personality and charisma.

Jude Law has an amazing style all his own. He appears so comfortable in his own skin that his ‘look’ is never a fashion statement but just an extension of himself. Good luck to any guy that wants to copy his look. It isn’t as easy as he makes it seem.

Well we can only try, and try I will! I definitely admire Jude’s style and would be happy if I looked half as good.
