Manicures for Men
Reader’s question
I was wondering if it’s ok for men to have manicures and how much white I should leave on my fingernails. What’s acceptable and what’s not?
Answer:
Men’s grooming has come a long way. While just a few years ago men wouldn’t be keen to admit that they got manicures on a regular basis, manicures have become far more popular in recent years. They can add to men’s confidence levels and add to a polished, professional appearance. With a regular manicure once a month, your hands will look their best and thank you for it.
The ideal length for the whites of your fingernails is around 1 to 2 millimeters. Manicures are cheap and easy to get, so there’s no reason why you can’t try one out and see how much better it makes your hands look. Longer fingernails look unprofessional and just aren’t aesthetically pleasing.
No time for a manicure? Try a home kit to keep your hands in shape. You can try the Sephora Mini Nail Tools set to work on grooming your nails at home or put in your bag for hangnails and quick trims.

I prefer men with short, clean, healthy-looking nails, and I am sure many women will add their voices here. As to professional manicure services - are there special SPAs for men only, or do they usually go to women’s places?

Hello I just wanted to say that for a LONG time my nails have not looked good, btu recently I was in the mall at Chrismas and a girl buffed one nail and I was impressed with the result, but the sales pitch was not, so being the cheap skate that I am I want to improve the look of my nails being that am machinist by trade and my hands kinda take a slight beating
