Boom of Men’s Skin Care Products
Even if you’re a skin care product devotee already, you’ve probably noticed that your choices have gotten more and more appealing. While ten years ago there were just a smattering of male targeted skin care products like facial washes and toners, you’re getting more and more spoiled for choice.
Sephora has released a statement that there is an increase in several categories of men’s skincare products, and according to an interview in Mercury News with Rene Sheperd, the men’s skin-care consultant for Sephora, “The men’s grooming category is growing at an extremely fast pace with new men’s skin-care lines constantly being developed.”
While a lot of us would be quick to guess that skin care products like moisturizers have begun to take off—considering the summer season—it’s actually lip balms that are the best selling stars of men’s care products. Other popular products include toners, anti-aging treatments, and clarifiers.
But do men really need targeted products? An interesting combination of psychology and physiology point the way to “yes.” Men’s skin has more hair follicles, making it rougher to the touch, and it also has a more intensive circulation in combination with very active sweat and oil glands. Combine all of that with a different pH than women’s skin, and you can imagine why targeted men’s products are getting the hype they deserve.
Despite the fact that metrosexuals have fallen by the wayside, their contributions to men’s skin care continues. Sampling a wide range of beauty products at the beginning of 2000 has led to a range of devoted product buyers. As men continue with careful skin regimens, they’re branching out into the newest products and refining their routine.
Are you looking for some new products to bulk up your skin care routine? Check out these products—either recently launched or refined—to give your skin the boost it needs.
