Summer Fragrance Picks for Men
When you’re choosing a summer fragrance, don’t forget that heavier scents will smell even stronger. A lighter fragrance such as a fruitier scent, including citrus notes, or an aqua scent will work perfectly in warm weather. If you really love your new fragrance, don’t forget that you can add a slight splash in the afternoon as a pick-me-up.
Light Blue for Men has subtle fruity tones that you need to try. The citrusy notes make Light Blue less sweet than lemony, and the dry cedarwood base is unique. It smells somewhat aquatic—perfect for summer—and it’s certainly light on the musky base that you may find in other men’s fragrances.
Aqua di Gio is considered a rather heady, strong aquatic scent, with notes of citrus, jasmine, rosemary, and wood. There’s a refreshing, breezy note that you’ll love for warm weather.
Annick Goutal Eau d’Hadrian Eau de Toilette
This scent is a quintessential summer must-have. It’s a classic scent with ingredients good enough to eat: sicilian lemon, grapefruit, citron, and cypress.
This interpretation of Hugo Boss’s original Elements takes aqua scents to the next level. You’ll find top notes of lavender and juniper, middle notes of cumin, and base notes of sandalwood, ylang-ylang, and amber.
This scent opens with a delightfully refreshing lavender, jasmine, oakmoss, musk and sandalwood notes. Cool Water works well for daytime, and is an excellent combination for those of us who want a fragrance with just a touch of outdoorsy, marine elements that don’t overwhelm.
Viktor and Rolf’s Antidote uses an interesting pairing of more traditional notes with a woodiness that we’ve encountered in other fragrances like Acqua di Gio Pour Homme. Expect mandarin orange, grapefruit, and mint leaves for a summery citrus blast, as well as spicy notes like pepper, geranium, nutmeg, and cinnamon. It’s a good casual scent with just a slight fruity touch.
Are you into heavier scents and are wondering what to wear for summer? Dunhill Pursuit is highly masculine, but has that shot of citrus that freshens it up for warmer weather. Enjoy the wood base paired with mandarin, vanilla, spike lavender, white cedarwood, vetyver, patchouli, yuzu, bergamot, ambrette seed, cardamom, schinus molle, and sandalwood.
This fragrance may have been launched in 1979, but it has carved itself a distinct spot as a leading men’s summer fragrance. The power of the scent is curiously minimal, natural, and fresh. This fruit fragrance has bright greens and citrus notes.
