Male Pubic Hair and Scrotum Shaving

By staff
March 24, 2007

It can be scary to wield a sharp razor so close to your private, even more when you’re a male, so if you’re feeling nervous about shaving down there, read this guide to shave your pubic hair without fuss or bother.

But why should you remove your pubic hair? First of all (and perhaps the best reason), shaving your pubic hair can make your erection look positively huge. When your pubic hair covers up part of the shaft, visually it can seem much shorter. The hidden part of the shaft will be revealed and can make your penis look a half inch longer. But, of course you wouldn’t care about that.

Other benefits of shaving your pubic hair include:

• Interest & novelty: Your hair removal can be a new novelty approach to grooming, adding interest if you’re in a long term relationship and want to switch it up.
• Improved hygiene: Don’t forget about hygiene. Your whole area will be cleaner, smell better, and be much more inviting, too.
• Healthiness: Your shaft and scrotum will not only look cleaner, but it will be healthier. Take advantage of your smooth area to examine your testicles regularly. Your partner can rest assured that she is protected from skin eruptions or unusual bugs.
• Sensuality: Even shaving can be sexy. Get your partner to help you shaving with lots of soft shaving gel and teasing razor strokes can be very erotic. Make your shaving sexy with a partner!
• General sexiness: The benefits of having a shaved pubic area will be apparent straight away. A smooth scrotum begs to be touched.

Shaving Your Pubic Hair

1. Prepare for scrotum and pubic hair shaving by selecting the best sharp razor and great shaving cream. A shaving cream for sensitive skin works best, and brands like The Art of Shaving, Colgate, and Neutrogena are all options for shaving this area. Choose a new razor blade on a razor you’re familiar with so there are no surprises.
2. Hop in a steamy shower. Take a full shower before shaving, so the hair gets soft and easier to shave. Get a full lather of shaving cream on the base of your shaft and around it, as well as the scrotum.
3. Start shaving at your shaft. Stroke downwards from the head of your penis and then continue to shave around the upper pubic area. If you’d like a completely clean shaven look, continue to remove all the hair around the shaft as well.
4. Continue to stroke down into the hairline around your testicles, and then carefully shave your testicles with a smooth upward motion.
5. Rinse and dry the area carefully. You’ll want to moisturize your skin afterwards for comfort, and adding a slight dusting of powder can help with any potential chafing.

Tips

*Remember: the pubic area is quite sensitive, and it may take some time for your skin to adjust to the razor. A perfectly smooth shave may take a little time to achieve.
*Rinse your razor after each stroke! Just like shaving your face, a clogged razor can alter the effectiveness of the shave.
*It’s important to exfoliate both before and after shaving your pubic area. Rub lightly with a sponge, washcloth, or loofah (nothing too harsh) to prefer blocked pores and ingrown hairs.
*Avoid any lotions or powders which contain colors or fragrances.

Sometimes shaving can affect certain individuals negatively. Red bumps may occur as the hair grows back. If this happens to you, cortisone cream can soothe irritation, and is available from your local pharmacy or drugstore. Shaving cream can also affect the pubic area as well, and switching over to hypoallergenic shaving cream could help.
If you’ve never shaved your genitals before, it’s worth giving it a try. For summer coolness or just an extra touch of sex appeal, the benefits of shaving could surprise you!

  2. I shave now the whole genetals to even my butt, and this is allot cleaner and better. No more harry butt, and I know my girl loves this, less hair for her to deal with. And not to mention I feel better knowing im smooth down there. Shaving is not for females only, you cut your grass because its inviting and looks good. Just my 2 cents.

  5. the only tip i’ll give is: ignore all this crap about needing a special tool for it, i’ve seen a few sites saying you ‘need this special tool’

i use any razor, doesnt even matter, disposeable one is as good as any $100 shaver.

do it in the shower, even sitting in the shower if you’re really worried about it.

if you’re sitting you can easily lay back comfortably, easily see your sack, and easily shave it.

also in the shower, the water is warm, it’ll relax you, your scrotum will be loose but the skin will be very firm, it makes it as easy as shaving your beard or moustache.

shaving in the shower i have had 0 cuts out of 6 years of doing it. i dare not do it outside of the shower, shaving a dry sack seems like a bad move…plus the water in the shower quickly washes the hair away so you can see what you’ve shaved.

its very easy and in my experiance, safe.

  7. This is the lamest nonesense I’ve come across in a long time. Why do you adult men want to look like prepubescent boys?
We live in a strange time…

  9. I have been shaving my balls for about a year. I just decided to shave my pube above my dick as well. It feels really neat. I use a Mach 3 razor. I also do it in the shower. I love the smooth feeling I have. It is wonderful.

  10. I love the feeling to but everytime I attempt it I break out with a severe rash (razor burn) and have even had to be treated once with Prednisone. I haven’t done it since then. Also always cut myself several times. I must be doing something wrong! Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Allen

  11. Yeah, Allen. Here’s my suggestion: Don’t shave your balls.

  13. i used to think that shaving my penic would just be retarded. then i suprized my girl with it and she absolutly loved it. she can hardly keep her hands off of me. i use a mach # turbo razor with mach 3 sensative skin shaving gel and the shower works wonders to keep down cuts and that prickly feeling of uncut hair. not to mention the cleaner, fresher sense i get form it. i would recomend it to anyone
