With presence of word “metrosexuals” on every corner you would expect that trend in men’s fragrances is towards fresh fruit accords and sweeter floral notes that would give men’s fragrances more of a feminine approach. In the 70s, the Afro was in vogue among African Americans. Some wore it as a fashion statement while others, more often, wore it as a political statement. Afro meant identity for a black man. Even some non afro-Americans fashioned their own versions of Afro hairstyle.

Men’s fashion trends for spring/summer 2005 that we’ve seen at shows are a preppy, yet smart and modern look. Nonchalante, chic, confident outfit with a lot color. Casual look will be stronger than ever. Military look is still in, wich is no surprise due to the American presence in the Middle East. The most noticed footwear trend is in accordance with this year’s colorful preepy look. I bet you already guess. Penny loafers are back. Widely popularized in 50s first by celebrities like James Dean, penny loafers become must-have in 50s and early 60s and again in 80s when preepy style surfaced again. Now this style is hot again, spiced up with some new stuff. New loafers are dressier and more elegant. (more…)
