Men’s fashion trends for spring/summer 2005 that we’ve seen at shows are a preppy, yet smart and modern look. Nonchalante, chic, confident outfit with a lot color. Casual look will be stronger than ever. Military look is still in, wich is no surprise due to the American presence in the Middle East. Modern and futuristic styling is starting to show up, mostly with a detail or two successfuly combined wit prevalent retro look. New technology development will surely fit well with this trend.

spring summerClothes are slim-fit, but not tight. It is same for shirts and pants as well. Pants that fit just right, and slim shirts that show off the body in stylish manner. Slim-fit styling is showing up in everything from polo shirts and jeans to chino pants and suits.

Color plays the dominant role this season. There were usually an aversion to colour in men’s fashion in the past, but starting with last season’s bright stripes, colors this season are even more bright and fresh. Color can be seen not just in t-shirts and casual wear. Rather about everywhere - from dress shirts to accessories to sneakers. Hot colors are pink (once again), sky blue, lemon yelow and leaf green. White is big color this season too, mostly fashioned in white suits, shirts and ties. White casual shoes are also very popular.

Bold patterns are another big look this season. Shirts are in bright combinations of checks, dots, or floral patterns. Ties are in brighter and fresher patterns then ever, perfectly paired with equally bright button-down shirts.

New style is present even in more traditional, formal look. Suits are still suits, but with new colors and more retro elegance. Suits are in light and metallic grey, biege, light brown and white, with pinstripes being major pattern while shirts and ties gives more colorful accent to whole look. The trend is towards two or even one button jackets and plain front trousers. Key fabric this season is linen and all materials are more lightweight.

spring summer collectionKey theme this season is “preppy chic”.  It is the classic American fashion that defined the ‘80s, but now it is combined with elegance of ‘50s and modern urban look spiced with rainbow of new colors. It means that we’ve seen a lot of vintage-style polos, plaid shirts, baseball caps, narrow ties, straight leg khakis, rugby shirts, V-necks, color blazers, saddle shoes and of course penny loafers. What makes an incredible style from all of this is great coordination. Mixing and maching. Pairing formal items with casual everyday items. Pairing suit jackets or blazers with jeans. Pairing tie and shirt stripes. Pairing bright colours with prints and patterns. Designers were not afraid to mix themes to build unique and fresh fashion concept.

In general, this season for men’s fashion is more exciting than it has ever been. Today’s men’s fashion offers many opportunities. There are many easy ways to add your own touch by puting together what is offered to make unique and personal look.
