Trends in Men’s Accessories

Not too long ago, men’s accessories connoted only heavy necklaces and thick rings. These days, men’s accessories hold almost all items previously fashioned by women only, and even more. With everyday’s technology developments, products such as mp3 players and cell phones are considered as fashion accessories. Today, men fashion their own style of wearing the right accessories with the right clothes for the right occasion.

Today’s trend in men’s accessories stole many ideas from women’s wisdom. Latest trend in men’s accessories are scarfs and bags. Lately, we’ve seen a lot of urban shawls in bright colours on men and that trend in men’s accessories will continue. Also popular are printed silk scarves worn like a tie. This year you’ll see a lot of totes in canvas, leather or exotic leather as alternatives to classic briefcase, like as many solutions where to put your cell phone, laptop, palm pilot, ipod, digital camera…

Belts are also one of the dominating men’s fashion accessories in spring/summer 2005. To accompany this year’s colorful preepy look, belts are not requared to be black and brown anymore. We’ve seen green, yelow and even pink cotton or canvas belts. More surprisingly, designers were not affraid to replace classic belts with natural ropes. Casual belts are noticed to have smaller buckles and often detailed with engraving and textures.

It isn’t surprise that hats are again hot men’s accessories, since this year’s trend doesn’t lack with abundance. Wide brimmed and straw hats are very hot this season. Also hot men’s accessories this year are wild colorful hats wich adds to this year’s already colorful trend. Baseball caps will continue to be seen among celebrities, but not as often as last year.

Big trend in men’s jewelry this season are over-sized wrist watches with colored bands. Other hot jewelry items include beaded necklaces and silver cufflinks. For rings hot metals are titanium, platinum and sterling silver.

With this summer’s look inspired by ‘80s it is not surprise that oversized retro sunglasses are again hot men’s accessories. And not only oversized but also in different patterns and colours. Sunglasses are in general more masculine witch means unisex styles are less popular than recent years. Blue and brown are most popular colors. Aviators are big hit again, as well as plastic frames.

This year’s variety in color, shapes and material of men’s accessories leaves everyone with plenty of possibilities to show off his personal style.
