Miskeen Originals, the New Face of Hip-Hop Fashion

You think you know hip-hop, you pride yourself on wearing the latest in Rocawear, Cooji, LRG, and Red Monkey? You’ve only begun to touch the surface of the true artistry that is on display at labels such as Miskeen Originals. Straight from the streets of Philadelphia, back in 1999, Dr. Denim took a chance on this upstart and started selling the collection in its stores, the rest is history.

We’ve seen artistic statements in denim labels as varied as those offered Paul Smith, John Varvatos and D & G, but few as tripped out as the artwork on Miskeen Originals stuff. Shirts cost $68, and are hand painted by their artists. Jeans are $88; in fact, this is a great line for youth looking to make a statement that do not have the disposable income that is required to buy some of the denim couture that is out there. Miskeen has everything from creative variations on the skulls everyone is wearing to original pieces that we seriously doubt you’ll find anyone else wearing. In fact, this gear will give you somewhat of an edge over your peers without breaking your bank. There are even big and tall sizes available up to 5XL. You’ll find Miskeen on various websites, but stick with their own site for the best deals and the latest collections.

Our suggestions would be to pair one of their hand painted white t-shirts with dark rinse denim, raw denim, in dark blue or black, for that crisp, clean look, with shoes that match the colors in the shirt, or your typical white on white. It’s nice to see an urban wear designer offer something different from the norm, and Miskeen Originals sort of picks up where Marc Ecko left off, with originality and style that rivals the mainstream labels adolescents are infatuated with.
