Rising Urban Celebrities Rockport’s New Endorsers
The Rockport Company which designs and markets comfort footwear, apparel, and accessories has partnered with four up-and-coming urban celebrities for a new ad campaign launching spring 2007 in select magazines to promote a shoe line titled “The Established 1971″ collection.
Pitchmen team made of urban stars in the worlds of music, entertainment, and fashion includes R&B singer Lyfe Jennings, rapper Yung Joc, actor Wood Harris, and MTV host and trendsetter Coltrane Curtis.
“We identified four dynamic entrepreneurs sharing Rockport’s passion for innovation and self-expression,” said Curtis Charles, Rockport senior vice president of sales.
The ad campaign, shot in Miami, will showcase personality and style of each celebrity to represent different styles of “The Established 1971” collection.
“We used to rock Rockports with old Polo Safari gear in the late 80’s and early 90’s; when they asked me to get involved with their new campaign, it made me think of how fly I was, crushin’ the block in my Rockports!,” said Curtis when asked about his thoughts on being involved in this national campaign.
In addition to appearing in the ad campaign, the featured celebrities will participate in special events to promote ad campaign in local markets.
