Designer Clothing Stores You Should Consider When Purchasing Online
Tommy Hilfiger (www.tommy.com)
Tommy Hilfiger has great clothing at their website as the designer has returned to creating classic looks, and there are a few signature pieces that should be everyone’s collection. Their website is full of great looks from updates on classic college prep blazers, denim trousers, sailing gear, and great sport shirts that are a bit different from what you’ve come to expect from Tommy in the past. Expect to pay between $50 and $300.
Ralph Lauren (www.polo.com)
We love Ralph Lauren’s website because you can find best of all labels under the Ralph Lauren umbrella, in one place. Where the Polo label offers great classics in casual and tailored clothing, Purple Label offers luxurious clothing with the high quality you’ve come to expect from European designers. Prices are typically two to three times that of Polo, which means that the shirts and pants run at around $300 to $600 and it isn’t unusual to pay $800 or more for a sweater. The genius behind the label, is that every single piece, can be worn for pretty much any occasion you can think of. If you want to take it there for what should be dress down, casual wear, you can use Purple Label pieces to give it that extra oomph; if you need a clean look that isn’t too difficult to think about, built around simplistic solid pieces that are unusually luxurious, Purple Label is the way to go.
Bluefly (Shop Bluefly!)
This is the site for those looking for great deals on designer fashion they probably shouldn’t purchase, because the rent is due, but there’s still a significant amount of credit on the card and we can worry about tomorrow when that time comes. The website has a slick way of grouping together various finds and marketing them through a sale or what they like to call a “Designer Spotlight”. The hottest, yet attainable, designer fashion is always posted directly at the beginning of the site, before you have to go around searching. Their shipping prices are still up there a bit, but their pages really load quickly, and it’s entirely too easy to find great pieces through looking directly for your size than it is particular designers. The only downplay to this site is that if you’re obsessed with particular designers, you’ll experience some frustration over finding great items that do not run in your particular size, or did, but sizes often run out quickly there. These days you can search for denim by color, which is great if you’re only into dark denim, or need black jeans for that special event. They also have designer stuff for your home, if you want your abode to share the same great look you strive for every day.
Overstock (www.overstock.com)
Overstock has come a long way in a short period of time; they had offered few designers to work with, which weren’t always chic. Times have changed, these days shipping is very cheap, there are plenty of designers to choose from and we love this site because you can still find unbelievable deals that are just a few degrees of separation from typical wholesale prices.
eLUXURY (www.eluxury.com)
For years eLUXURY was a blatant advertisement for the LVMH brands, but has evolved into more of well rounded shopping experience. eLUXURY was necessary, because there wasn’t any other site that was licensed to sell Dior Homme. These days you may actually find something on sale. Shopping aficionados may avoid this site initially, because it isn’t known for its sales, or for a wide selection, but again, this is the only place you may find some labels, and others will not have the items that you have here.
YOOX (YOOX.COM)
One of the first well known fashion websites, 7 years later, YOOX is still offering great finds on unknown designers that can run with the best of the corporate mainstream offerings. Their genius is that they do not rely on only usual suspects to build their store, but offer clothing also from eclectic foreign designers that will give you an edge over your peers. You can still find Armani here; on the other hand, it’s admirable that they also have finds from Borrelli Napoli or Incotex.
