Style Primer: Men’s Jewelry
Wearing jewelry can be daunting for a man. While a classic watch can be an essential accessory, other men’s jewelry can be a challenge to wear—at best. Some men like to wear lots of chains, rings, and bracelets, other guys forget about the challenge and never wear jewelry. Luckily, there’s a simple way to work in accessories without dressing yourself up too much.
Watches
Contrary to popular belief, there is a place for men’s accessories in the workplace. Watches are the perfect way to accessorize if you work in a conservative environment, so look for watches to suit all your moods. A classic watch style will last for your entire lifetime and can instantly update your suit, so consider a Tag Heuer or a Rolex if you have the means. Trendy cool watches include ones by Diesel and Fossil.
Bracelets
Bracelets aren’t very popular with men, but they really can add to your style. Choose a bracelet that is classic and simple. The less complicated your bracelet is, the more it will coordinate with and the more often you can wear it.
Try stylish bracelets in cool metals like gold, platinum, and silver. These can even be worn to work in moderation, but sometimes you can try a casual bracelet like one in leather, woven fabric, or one with beaded embellishments.
Tip: Bracelets should fit around your wrist firmly enough to avoid swinging around excessively. It can be distracting and irritating when you have a loose bracelet on day after day. It will swing and clank around your wrist and could annoy your coworkers when you are at your desk.
Necklaces
Necklaces you choose should be somewhat substantial. Since necklaces don’t usually fly in even the most casual of work environments, choose something that will make a statement. When you go to the bar or head to the club, try a necklace from natural wood beads or gold, silver, or platinum chains. A medium-thick chain or strand won’t seem effeminate, and they will be noticeable enough to set of your outfit.
Rings
Rings are often used jewelry for men. Besides your wedding ring (if you wear one), you can wear a ring on any finger. If your ring coordinates with your outfit, you can choose which finger to wear your ring on according to comfort. Some people love to wear rings on their thumb, while other prefer the middle finger.
Choose a ring that won’t be too flashy. Choose a silver ring in a hammered design for a simple look with a touch of interest, or platinum for the same effect. It is best to avoid wearing yellow gold, which tends to be slightly more overstated than most people’s tastes. Yellow gold also doesn’t match well with most outfits.
Earrings
Earrings are one of the most controversial fashion accessories for men. While they are popular with guys who like to cultivate a tougher image, we’ve seen them rise and fall in popularity with men of all kinds. Like any accessories, you should wear earrings that are tasteful and classic. Try a simple earring in sterling silver—and nothing dangly, please!

Just wanted to add that men’s jewelry should be of excellent quality and preferably made of precious metals.
