5 Office Style Mistakes to Avoid
Avoid these top errors in judgment for the office fashion that may have your coworkers snickering.
1. Stained Clothes: This can be a large problem for suit wearers. When you come home from work each day and change, inspect your clothes for stains and marks. Give your suit a good steam to relax wrinkles from commuting, and invest in a good stain stick for emergencies.
2. Ponytails: Resist the urge to rock a ponytail. Even if you think you look and feel good, it’s not the most professional look out there. It can also really harm your chances in the dating pool.
3. Backpacks: Toss your backpack and grab a messenger bag or a briefcase for more formal offices. A backpack at work can send the wrong message and ruin the overall effect of your outfit.
4. Bright colors: Try understated clothes, especially if you’re not confident with color. More subdued shades will also allow you to mix and match more, so it’s great for someone on a budget as well.
5. Cologne Overload: This can be distracting. Scents are personal and don’t need to be shared with the office! Remember that mixing scents is also bad, so check your aftershave and deodorant as well for strong fragrances.

I see your point regarding the ponytail. But, more often than not, sporting a mane at the office might not be the best thing to do, although, if the hair is neat and so on, it can look good. Unfortunately, of fortunately, most offices and places of work require long hair to be tied back neatly.
