Women Know a Thing about Men’s Fashion Too
Women have always dressed us, whether it is your mother making sure that your collar was down, your shirt tucked in, and that your pants were creased she was probably more of a fashion influence than your old man. Somewhere between dressing to get the attention of the girls we liked and hearing females critique each other’s look, we learned early on in life that looking great was important, and that it could help us to be the best that we could be.
It is very possible that some of your favorite clothing picks include a few labels that are either headed by women designers, or labels whose primary audience are women, yet have something to offer for men as well. Designers as Ann Demeulemeester and Sonia Rykiel offer viable alternatives to attire from usual “Men’s” labels. “Women’s” labels that are popular among men are often successful because they have found a creative way of bringing out the softer, sensual side of men that are trying to get away from the office uniform or the traditional evening fare, and have found a way to look great without taking their masculinity so seriously.
Indeed, a man looking for something to wear may not care if Ralph Lauren or Donna Karan is designing the clothes. On the other hand, designers like Donna Karan have a way of bringing out the confidence and handsome traits of men through their attire that traditional men’s designers rarely are capable. Chances are your woman would buy you attire from Donna Karan before they’ll loose themselves in the racks of Armani or Zegna. That may not be a bad thing at all, particularly if the clothing allows you to express yourself in ways you hadn’t normally thought of.
